The Axios wine portfolio was founded in 1999 by Greek-American proprietor Gus Kalaris, whose vision was to bridge the gap between traditional Old World craftsmanship and the opulent, sun-drenched terroir of Napa Valley. After establishing his reputation with the super-premium Axios label, Kalaris introduced the Truth line as an accessible, bistro-style exploration of the valley’s character. Winemaker Bob Egelhoff (Harlan, Hartwell, Robert Craig, David Arthur...) , a long-time collaborator in the Axios project, brings his technical expertise to these wines, focusing on sourcing fruit that delivers immediate enjoyment and typicity. The name of the brand stems from the introspective idea that looking at one's own reflection reveals the truth, a philosophy that extends to the straightforward, honest presentation of these wines.
