Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut Rose (Cremant de Loire, Loire Valley, France)
Founded in 1885 by Édouard Langlois and Jeanne Chateau in Saint-Hilaire-Saint-Florent, Maison Langlois has been a benchmark specialist in Loire sparkling production for well over a century. The house’s dedication to quality attracted the attention of the legendary Champagne house Maison Bollinger, which acquired the estate in 1973 and invested heavily in both its historic cellars and organic viticulture. Tending to over 60 hectares of sustainably and organically farmed vineyards around Saumur, Langlois treats Crémant with the exact rigor, parcel selection, and extended lees-aging usually reserved for fine Champagne. Including them in this sampler showcases the pinnacle of method-traditionelle Loire sparkling wine, offering authentic regional craftsmanship and incredible value.
Grown on chalky clay soils in the heart of Saumur, this traditional-method sparkling rosé is crafted predominantly from Cabernet Franc with a touch of Pinot Noir. Aged for 18 months on its lees, it shows a delicate pale pink hue with subtle copper highlights. Aromas of white peach, red berries, and subtle dried blossom carry through to a lively, generous palate with persistent fine bubbles, bright red fruit purity, and a crisp, dry finish.
Chateau de Villeneuve 2025 Saumur Blanc (Saumur, Loire Valley, France)
Perched on the prime limestone terraces of Souzay-Champigny overlooking the Loire River, Château de Villeneuve holds a historical legacy of winemaking that dates back to 1577. Today, the property is stewarded with meticulous organic and biodynamic practices, focusing entirely on preserving the natural vitality of its old-vine sites. The estate is celebrated for producing some of the most focused and mineral-driven Chenin Blancs in the region, using native yeasts and restrained cellar work to let the terroir speak. A staple addition to any Loire lineup, Villeneuve represents the essential gold standard of dry, artisanal Saumur Blanc.
Sourced from certified organic, biodynamically farmed vineyards set on the famous limestone terraces overlooking the Loire River, this 100% Chenin Blanc is a masterclass in tension and purity. Stainless steel and partial neutral barrel aging retain its high-toned precision. It delivers crisp aromas of green apple, quince, and white flowers, yielding to a steely, mineral-driven palate with high natural acidity and a long, dry, chalky finish.
Les Carrieres de Mezy 2023 Pouilly-Fume Cuvee de la Reserve (Pouilly-Fume, Loire Valley, France)
Les Carrières de Mézy is an estate deeply rooted in the distinctive, flint-heavy soils of Pouilly-sur-Loire. The estate’s vineyards sit atop prime outcroppings of silex (flint) and Kimmeridgian limestone, geological formations that grant Sauvignon Blanc its unmistakable smoky and mineral-laden signature. By prioritizing traditional sustainable farming, low yields, and estate bottling, the producers maintain complete control over the expression of their distinct microclimates. This bottling earns its place in the collection by providing an authentic, classic taste of Pouilly-Fumé’s signature weight and crushed-stone minerality.
Grown on classic limestone and silex soils, this estate-bottled Sauvignon Blanc captures the hallmark weight and flinty depth of Pouilly-Fumé. The nose opens with rich scents of macerated white peach, citrus peel, and crushed stone. The palate is broad, textured, and deeply flavorful, offering poached pear and ripe citrus balanced by a firm line of wet-stone minerality and bright, refreshing acidity.
Domaine Roger Neveu 2025 Sancerre Blanc (Sancerre, Loire Valley, France)
The Neveu family traces its roots in the village of Verdigny as far back as the 12th century, with centuries of continuous agricultural history in Sancerre's finest terroirs. Today, the domain is run by brothers Éric and Jean-Philippe Neveu alongside their sons, managing steep, south-facing hillside sites like the famed Clos des Bouffants. Their vineyards are dominated by caillottes—shallow, stony limestone soils that impart intense energy and aromatics to Sauvignon Blanc. Neveu is essential to this sampler because it delivers benchmark Sancerre purity and family-owned authenticity that stands head and shoulders above mass-market regional labels.
Hailing from steep hillside vineyards planted in Sancerre's famed caillottes limestone soils, this benchmark Sauvignon Blanc delivers striking varietal purity. Expressive aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and white flowers lead into a sleek, medium-bodied palate. Crisp citrus and white peach flavors are tightly framed by energetic acidity and a sharp, limestone-driven mineral core that lingers on the pristine finish.
Michel Vattan 2025 Sancerre Rose (Sancerre, Loire Valley, France)
Located in Sury-en-Vaux, Domaine Michel Vattan is a boutique Sancerre property built on precision, sustainable vineyard management, and respect for site. Under the current guidance of winemaker Pascal Joulin, who trained alongside Michel Vattan before taking over stewardship, the estate works across Sancerre's diverse trio of soils: flint, terrestrial limestone, and Kimmeridgian marl. The estate’s Pinot Noir plantings receive the exact same exacting attention as their whites, resulting in rosés of exceptional structure and food-friendliness. Including Vattan in this pack offers a masterclass in how Pinot Noir thrives in Sancerre's cool climate, elevating rosé from a simple summer quaffer to a serious, terroir-driven wine.
Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, this direct-press rosé is designed to marry the red fruit typicity of the grape with the electric freshness of Sancerre white wines. Sourced from the commune of Sury-en-Vaux, it exhibits a bright, pale salmon hue and vibrant aromas of wild strawberry, white peach, and fresh lime peel. The palate is vibrant, crisp, and intensely refreshing, carrying crunchy red berry fruit over a subtle smoky mineral undercurrent.
Domaine de Pallus 2024 Messanges Rouge Chinon (Chinon, Loire Valley, France)
Domaine de Pallus has been held by the Sourdais family since 1883, situated in Cravant-les-Coteaux—widely recognized as the ultimate heartbeat of high-quality Chinon. The estate reached world-class status when Bertrand Sourdais returned home after making a major international name for himself at Dominio de Atauta in Spain. Applying ultra-rigorous, single-vineyard parcellary farming, biodynamic principles, and gentle extraction techniques to his family's prime tuffeau-limestone slopes, Sourdais transformed the estate into one of the Loire's elite red wine producers. His inclusion in the sampler gives lovers of Loire reds access to modern Chinon crafted by one of the most talented vignerons in France.
Named after the historic regional term for Cabernet Franc, "Messanges" represents the pure, unoaked, and ultra-vibrant expression of Chinon. Fermented and aged strictly in concrete tanks to preserve its vivid fruit, it opens with bright aromas of fresh red cherry, raspberry, violets, and a hint of crushed peppercorn. The palate is light-footed yet wonderfully concentrated, bursting with crunchy red and black fruits, fine chalky tannins, and an invigorating finish.
