The 2020 Valduero Una Cepa Ribera del Duero is a powerful yet elegant expression of 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), crafted from mature, low-yield vines that produce intensely concentrated fruit. In the glass, it displays a deep cherry-red color with impressive intensity. The nose opens with aromas of ripe black cherry, red plum, and raspberry, layered with notes of vanilla, toasted oak, leather, sweet spice, and subtle earthy nuances from its extended aging in oak and bottle. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and richly textured, offering concentrated dark and red fruit flavors balanced by fresh acidity and refined, firm tannins. Hints of cocoa, cedar, and baking spices add complexity, leading to a long, persistent finish marked by elegance and depth. While already approachable with decanting, its structure and balance indicate excellent aging potential over the next decade.
