It opens with bright aromas of lime zest, lemon, lemongrass, fresh fennel, and subtle white‑peach tones, carried by a very pale straw color with green reflections and crystalline clarity. On the palate, it is dry, light, and tightly focused, driven by zesty acidity and flavors of lime, lemon, and grapefruit supported by talc‑like minerality and wet‑stone notes that give the wine a clean, chiselled profile. A touch of textural weight from brief lees contact adds gentle roundness without softening its precision, and the finish is long, saline, and delicately bitter in a way that enhances freshness. While immediately drinkable for its energy and purity, it has the structure to develop the honeyed, toasty complexity that mature Hunter Semillon is known for over the coming years.
