Tasting Notes

Produced from a single two-hectare block of low-yielding bush vines planted high on the granitic slopes of the Simonsberg mountain, this refined bottling showcases a vibrant ruby-purple color. The nose leads with fresh, primary fruit aromas of dark cherries, mulberries, and ripe cassis, accented by delicate notes of red bell pepper and star anise spice.

The palate is medium-bodied, energetic, and precise, driven by a fine backbone of acidity that keeps the ripe red and black berry flavors exceptionally fresh. Wild-yeast fermentation and extended aging in neutral French oak allow the wine's natural purity to take center stage, supported by fine-grained, chalky tannins that lead to a clean, lingering finish with subtle mineral and baking spice undertones.
