This Month's Selections

Corazon del Sol 2024 Malbec (Los Chacayes, Argentina)
Grown in the high-altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley, this Malbec is an expressive and fruit-forward representation of Los Chacayes. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of violets and plum jam, while the palate reveals rich layers of blackberry and mocha. Aging in used French oak barrels allows the natural characteristics of the site to shine, providing a velvety texture balanced by vibrant acidity and well-integrated tannins. The finish is smooth and persistent, showcasing the refined craftsmanship typical of this estate.

Double Canyon 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley, Washington)
This selection offers a distinctive Washington profile, eschewing a formulaic style in favor of complexity and site expression. Impactful aromas of deep cherry, vanilla, and dark chocolate lead into a silky-smooth entry on the palate. Flavors of ripe blackberry and tart currant are complemented by toasted oak and subtle baking spices. With approachable tannins and a lengthy, nuanced finish, this medium-bodied Cabernet maintains a balanced structure that reflects the unique terroir of the Columbia Valley.

Chateau de la Chaize 2023 Brouilly (Beaujolais, France)
Produced from 30-year-old vines planted in the granite soils surrounding the historic Château, this 100% Gamay Noir displays a vibrant ruby red hue. The generous bouquet features redcurrant, wild blackberry, and morello cherry, accented by floral notes of violet and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, the wine is silky and well-structured with crunchy fruit and lively acidity. Fine, velvety tannins lead into a long, mineral-driven finish, making it an exceptionally versatile and elegant Cru Beaujolais.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo (Piedmont, Italy)
This estate-bottled Nebbiolo is a precise and food-friendly expression of the Langhe. The wine opens with classic aromatics of red berries and rose petals, transitioning into a palate brimming with juicy currants and dark fruit. Earthy undertones of leather and cracked pepper add complexity to the mid-palate, while the firm, characteristic Nebbiolo tannins provide a structured backbone. The finish is savory and persistent, capturing the authentic spirit of Piedmontese viticulture.

Faustino VII 2024 Rosé (Rioja, Spain)
A blend of Tempranillo and Viura, this Rioja Rosado presents a clean, bright, pale pink color with lilac reflections. The expressive nose is dominated by red fruit aromas, specifically ripe strawberries, alongside hints of lime, rosewater, and subtle tropical nuances. The palate is light, lively, and perfectly balanced, showing refreshing acidity and a pleasant fruit-forward core. It is a crisp and approachable rosé that delivers a clean, medium-length finish.

Smallfry 2023 Tangerine Dream (Barossa Valley, Australia)
This unfiltered amber wine is an intriguing blend of old-vine Pedro Ximénez, Semillon, Riesling, and Marsanne. True to its skin-contact style, it offers punchy flavors of pink grapefruit, apricot, and a hint of Seville orange bitterness. The texture is soft and rounded, accented by a light touch of black pepper on the finish. Produced with low intervention and no systemic chemicals, it is a drinkable and textured "orange" wine that highlights the creative potential of the Barossa.
