This Month's Selections

Greenhough Sauvignon Blanc (Nelson, New Zealand)

Hailing from the Waimea Plains in Nelson, this wine showcases a more restrained and nuanced profile than many of its regional peers. The fruit is harvested in multiple passes to capture a spectrum of ripeness, resulting in an elegant aromatic display of lemongrass, fresh red apple, and citrus zest. A portion of the wine is fermented in seasoned French oak, lending a delicate weight and texture that balances the vibrant, crunchy acidity and gentle flinty finish.

Domaines Bunan "Mas De La Rouviere" Bandol Rosé (Provence, France)

This selection represents the pinnacle of Mediterranean rosé, crafted from the Mourvèdre-dominant blends that define the Bandol appellation. It offers a sophisticated, dry profile marked by subtle notes of white peach, delicate red currant, and wild garrigue. The palate is structured and harmonious, possessing a mineral-driven depth and a graceful, lingering finish that reflects the sun-drenched, stony slopes of the French coast.

Javier Sanz Paraje La Encina (Rueda, Spain)

Sourced from historic, pre-phylloxera vines in the heart of Rueda, this Verdejo is an exercise in intensity and precision. It presents an aromatic profile of stone fruit, dried herbs, and a signature saline character that speaks to the region's unique continental climate. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and oily, maintaining a refreshing tension and a complex, persistent finish that highlights the remarkable longevity of these ancient vines.

Cline Family Cellars Eight Spur Zinfandel (Contra Costa County, USA)

This Zinfandel celebrates the legacy of old-vine viticulture in the sandy soils of Contra Costa County. It is rich and exuberant, delivering deep layers of brambly blackberry, dark plum, and spiced tobacco. While the fruit is forward and generous, it remains firmly balanced by refined tannins and a savory, underlying earthiness that provides structure and complexity beyond the initial wave of flavor.

Fattoria Bonsalto Primo Marzo Toscana Rosso (Tuscany, Italy)

This Tuscan red offers a vibrant expression of the Sangiovese grape, capturing the rustic elegance of the region. It is characterized by aromas of bright red cherry, dried plum, and a subtle hint of Tuscan earth and leather. On the palate, the wine features integrated, fine-grained tannins and a crisp acidity that provides balance, making it an incredibly versatile and expressive wine that pairs beautifully with a range of Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Poderi Ruggeri Corsini Dolcetto d’Alba (Piedmont, Italy)

This Dolcetto is a testament to the charming, fruit-forward nature of Piedmontese viticulture, emphasizing drinkability and freshness. It is deeply colored with vibrant aromas of wild berries, black cherry, and a touch of almond skin. The structure is soft and approachable, with low acidity and silky tannins that create a smooth, inviting palate, making it a quintessential companion for a variety of culinary settings.
