Markham "6 Stack" Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) Markham Vineyards has been a cornerstone of St. Helena winemaking since 1878, and the "6 Stack" series represents their commitment to Napa Valley’s diverse terroir. Sourced primarily from estate vineyards in Yountville and Calistoga, this is a quintessential Napa Cabernet that prioritizes fruit purity and structural finesse. It leads with a deep aromatic profile of blackberry, mocha, and cedar, followed by a full-bodied palate of blackcurrant and cigar box. The tannins are firmly integrated, providing a dense structure that is balanced by an underlying freshness. This 2021 release earned a 91-point score from James Suckling, who praised its focus and savory depth.

Pinord Chateldon Cabernet Sauvignon (Penedès) Produced by the Tetas family in the heart of Catalonia, the Chateldon Reserva is a fascinating Spanish interpretation of this international variety. Coming from the Muntanyans estate, the grapes undergo a meticulous three-week maceration before spending 14 months in oak casks. The result is a wine with an evolved, opulent character featuring intense aromas of raisin, red fruit jam, and clove. On the palate, it is smooth and well-balanced, showing a sophisticated interplay between ripe fruit and spicy notes of pepper. It is a robust red with a long, velvety finish that reflects the heritage of one of Penedès’ most historic organic producers.

Steady State by Josh Phelps (Napa Valley) Josh Phelps, a second-generation Napa winemaker, created Steady State to showcase the high-quality, terroir-driven potential of his home valley. The 2021 vintage is a "tête de cuvée" sourced entirely from a single vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, known for its cooling influences from the San Pablo Bay. This wine is wonderfully muscular and robust, earning a 94-point rating from Decanter. It displays fragrant notes of cassis, black licorice, and wild rosemary, supported by satiny tannins and rich, toasty oak. The finish is remarkably long and complex, featuring elegant nuances of graphite, cedarwood, and crushed cocoa nibs.

The Atom California Cabernet Sauvignon (California) The Atom is crafted with a "passionate scientific" approach, selecting fruit from nucleic epicenters across California’s premier vineyard regions to build a wine of vinified elegance. This is an approachable and expressive style of Cabernet, emphasizing lush fruit and immediate drinkability. The nose offers a smoldering mix of black pepper and currant, which transitions into a robust palate of violet, tobacco leaf, and subtle licorice. With its integrated tannins and balanced acidity, it provides a soft, lingering finish that highlights the "God Particle" of flavor within the grape. It is a consistent favorite for its smooth texture and reliable quality.
