Tasting Notes

Maison de Madeleine Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant, dry white wine crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes sourced from the celebrated Loire Valley region of France. This varietal is globally renowned for its high acidity, lean structure, and expressive aromatics. On the nose, this particular expression opens with bright, airy aromas of zesty grapefruit, green apple, sweet hay, and a distinct whisper of fresh herbs. The palate is intensely fruit-driven, delivering sharp lemon-lime and white peach flavors balanced by an electric, mouthwatering acidity and a crisp, salty minerality. The finish rounds out with sophisticated textures of crushed seashells, flinty smoke and a softened hint of toasted, nutty buttercream.
Because of its lively acidity and stony salinity, this wine acts like a fresh squeeze of lemon, making it an immaculate culinary match for delicate seafood and earthy, tangy ingredients. It pairs seamlessly with raw or lightly cooked shellfish—such as fresh oysters on the half shell and pan-seared scallops with herb butter—as well as simply grilled white fish like sea bass or cod topped with a citrus-beurre blanc sauce. Following classic regional pairing traditions, it is the ultimate companion to tangy goat cheeses, matching the cheese's natural sharpness while cutting through its creamy texture. Additionally, its green, herbaceous undertones make it an excellent choice for balancing light chicken dishes infused with rosemary or chimichurri, as well as crisp summer salads, asparagus tarts, and Vietnamese or Thai dishes featuring fresh lime and cilantro.
