M.O.B. is the powerhouse joint project of three of Portugal’s most celebrated winemakers: Jorge Moreira (Poeira), Francisco Olazabal (Quinta do Vale Meão), and Jorge Serôdio Borges (Wine & Soul). Already masters of the hot Douro Valley, these three friends came together out of a shared passion for the elegant, lower-alcohol, fresh style of old-school Dão wines from the 1960s and 70s. Prompted by local legend Álvaro de Castro, they leaped across regions, leasing high-elevation granite vineyards sitting 550 meters up at the foot of the Serra da Estrela mountains. Working together like three musketeers, they share vineyard duties on a daily relay system throughout harvest, applying a gentle, low-extraction hands-off approach. The result is a stunning blend of tradition and modernity, capturing all the floral, granite-laced, low-alcohol finesse that makes the Dão region so captivating.

This extraordinary blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Jaen (Mencía) highlights the world-class terroir of the Dão region. A captivating nose reveals distinct notes of bergamot, fresh blackberry, crushed black pepper, and subtle graphite. Remarkably nimble and lower in alcohol than typical modern reds, it delivers wonderful fresh acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a long, savory finish.
