Division Wine Co. 2025 "Les Petits Fers" Gamay Noir

$ 2599 $ 2999

Founded in 2011 by Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe, Portland’s Division Wine Co. was built on a deep reverence for the classic, minimal-intervention winemaking of the Loire Valley, Beaujolais, and Burgundy. After learning their craft firsthand in traditional French cellars, Monroe and Norris brought those old-world sensibilities back to the Pacific Northwest. They have since established themselves as pioneers in shaping the identity of domestic Gamay, championing organic and biodynamic farming, early harvesting for naturally lower alcohol, and gentle cellar techniques to let cool-climate sites express their true character without heavy oak manipulation.

The 2025 "Les Petits Fers" Gamay Noir showcases exactly why Division has become the leading voice for this varietal in the United States. Sourced from responsibly farmed sites across Oregon and Washington, this bottling utilizes partial carbonic maceration to achieve a bright, crunchy fruit profile balanced by serious structural complexity. Aromas of fresh-cracked black pepper, damp earth, and dried violets leap from the glass, giving way to a vibrant palate overflowing with tart red cherries, wild raspberries, and a distinct seam of slate-like minerality. Silky, expressive, and brimming with energy, it is an absolute triumph for Pacific Northwest Gamay that drinks beautifully with a light chill.
