Chateau Roc Meynard 2024 Bordeaux Clairet
Tasting Notes
The Château Roc Meynard 2024 Bordeaux Clairet is a vibrant, modern expression of a historic French style, striking a distinct balance between a light red wine and a robust rosé. Produced by winemaker Esther Hermouet from 25-year-old vines grown on the Right Bank clay-limestone hillsides of Fronsac, this vintage consists of a varietal blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Malbec. Following a 48-hour cold soak and a 10-day stainless steel fermentation with malolactic integration, the wine displays a luminous, brilliant raspberry-pink color. On the nose and palate, it is bone-dry, juicy, and highly expressive, bursting with crisp flavors of strawberry and blackcurrant, underlined by a subtle hint of earth and light, structured tannins on the finish. Best served chilled, this highly versatile Clairet is an exceptional pairing for summer barbecues, grilled halloumi salads, seasoned pork or chicken tacos, and mildly spiced curries.
