Tasting Notes

The Arnaud Lambert Crémant de Loire Blanc Brut is a refined sparkling wine crafted primarily from Chenin Blanc and complemented by Chardonnay. Sourced from organically farmed old vineyards on the legendary tuffeau limestone hill of Brézé in Saumur, this traditional method sparkler balances the sharp, laser-like acidity of Chenin Blanc with the rounding, softening texture of Chardonnay.
On the nose, the wine opens with an aromatic display of crisp green apple, pear skin, and lemon zest, underscored by delicate layers of honeyed undertones, chamomile, and a distinct, chalky minerality. The palate is precise, vinous, and lively, presenting a fine, persistent mousse and a medium body. Bright yellow stone fruit and quince characteristics melt into savory depth—featuring toasted hazelnut, melba toast, and brioche notes gained from extensive aging on the lees. The wine finishes with a mouthwatering, stony, and saline snap that delivers incredible freshness and structure without any harsh bitterness.
This versatile Crémant is an exceptional partner at the table, where its vibrant acidity and clean finish seamlessly cut through rich textures or complement delicate seafood. It serves as a fantastic aperitif alongside salty fried snacks, gougères, or classic shrimp canapés. For seafood courses, it pairs phenomenally well with fresh oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, seared scallops, and Dungeness crab. Beyond the sea, the wine’s body allows it to carry through a full meal, matching wonderfully with roasted poultry, savory quiche Lorraine, or regional Loire Valley specialties like Crottin de Chavignol goat cheese or a goat cheese tart.
