This week, we're featuring two outstanding vintages of one of California's most celebrated Pinot Noirs — Pisoni Estate from the Santa Lucia Highlands.
We can't say enough good things about these wines or the family behind them! Taylor has developed a wonderful friendship with Gary Pisoni, his sons Mark and Jeff, and Jeff's talented winemaker wife, Bibbiana. Visits to Pisoni are almost always a highlight of Taylor's California wine trips.
The Pisoni family's story began in 1982, when Gary planted Pinot Noir on the rugged, windswept hillsides of the Santa Lucia Highlands, helping establish what would become one of California's premier cool-climate wine regions. Today, Mark oversees the vineyards while Jeff leads winemaking, continuing the family's commitment to producing world-class wines.
Their flagship, black-labeled Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir, is produced in limited quantities from select vineyard blocks and is renowned for its concentrated fruit, beautiful complexity, and exceptional aging potential.

Rich and expressive, with layers of black cherry, crushed strawberry, sandalwood, cedar, and warm baking spices. Beautifully structured with tremendous aging potential.
