Pronounced “rain”, our name reminds us that wine was rain first.

It only becomes wine in our vineyards after being filtered by the rocks taken back up by the vines and sweetened by the sun. The unique spelling is our society and ethos, which is translated to Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally.

As fourth generation winemakers and farmers, Carlo and Dante Mondavi attribute a great deal of what they have learned to their grandfather Robert Mondavi and father Tim Mondavi, both whom influenced them from a young age.  The lineage of their family wineries is staggering.  Charles Krug, Robert Mondavi, Opus One, Continuum, and now RAEN.  Passionate about naturally farming and producing wines in the extreme Sonoma Coast, Carlo and Dante work tirelessly to create some of the world's finest Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.  In fact, these wines have received some eye popping acclaim.  AND the new release of the 2023 RAEN Freestone Occidental Bodega Vyd Pinot Noir just received their first
 100 Pts from James Suckling!  This wine is highly desirable , and we're fortunate to have been  allocated enough to pour at the dinner and sell after :)
