Known historically for crafting powerful, intensely structured, and remarkably long-lived grand vins, the estate applies the exact same meticulous viticultural care and rigorous selection to its third wine, Tertio de Montrose (historically bottled under the label Le Saint-Estèphe de Château Montrose prior to this vintage). This cuvée offers an incredible gateway into the estate's portfolio, sharing the pedigree and precision of the northern Médoc without requiring decades of patient cellaring.

The 2016 Tertio de Montrose captures all the trademark freshness, balance, and classicism of a legendary Left Bank vintage. In the glass, it presents a deep garnet hue and unfurls with an aromatic profile rich in fresh blackberries, blackcurrants, and fragrant red roses, complicated by underlying hints of sweet spices, graphite, and subtle toasted oak. On the palate, the wine strikes a seamless balance between a lush, generous core of dark fruit and the firm, fine-grained structure characteristic of Saint-Estèphe.
