Lamadrid’s 2022 Single Vineyard Bonarda Reserva is a deeply colored, aromatic expression of Mendoza Bonarda that leans into the grape’s natural juiciness while adding the polish and structure of careful barrel aging. Made from 100% Bonarda sourced from estate vines in Agrelo, the wine opens with generous aromas of black cherry, blueberry, plum skin, violets, and a touch of graphite, followed by subtler notes of cocoa, vanilla, and warm spice from its time in oak. On the palate it is plush yet vibrant, offering concentrated dark‑fruit flavors—blackberry, mulberry, and ripe cherry—wrapped in soft tannins and lifted by a fresh, mouthwatering acidity that keeps the wine lively despite its richness. Hints of mocha, licorice, and sweet herbs carry through the finish, which is long, smooth, and slightly savory. This style of Bonarda pairs beautifully with grilled meats, chimichurri steak, barbecue pork, roasted lamb, empanadas, charcuterie, and richly spiced dishes; its acidity also makes it a natural match for tomato‑based pastas and wood‑fired pizzas.
