Convene 2021 Russian River Pinot Noir
Winemaker Notes
If you're a fan of California Pinot Noir, then you've probably heard of Kosta-Browne winery. Dan Kosta of Kosta Browne Winery owns Convene, and he has some great contacts in the valley to get some access to fantastic fruit. He also has Shaney Finely, one of his original winemakers, at Kosta-Browne making this wine. This is a gorgeous example of Pinot Noir, and the quality of this wine is stunning, with gorgeous aromas of red flowers, bright cherry, spice box, and a touch of fresh-cut herbs. The fruit on the palate is lovely, with incredible layers that unwind with every sip. The wine is rich yet light on its feet, and the finish fans out across the palate like a peacock's tail. This is the best 2021 Russian River Pinot we have tasted this year, and if you love the Pinot Noir, you owe it to yourself to try this wine! Especially at practically half the price of the Kosta-Browne stuff.
Critical Acclaim
97pts Wine Enthusiast
This wine from one of Kosta Browne’s founders shows just-ripe black cherry and blackberry flavors that are compelling and delicious. Moderate tannins and good acidity lift the fruit across the palate and through the finish. Beautiful aromas of black fruits, rose petals and violets continue to echo.
