Marie Plaisance Bergerac Blanc Sec
Founded in 1780, Chateau Marie Plaisance has always been a family winery and continues with its fifth generation of winemakers. From Bergerac, France, just south of Bordeaux, the Merillier family has committed themselves to produce top quality, organic wines. The ‘Le Brin’ Blanc is made up of mostly Sauvignon Blanc with a good dose of Semillon like their norther neighbors. They allow the wine to age on lees for three months to develop more body and complexity. Bright florality on the nose leads right into freshness on the palate with notes of lemon, pear, and minerality. This wine would pair perfectly with a lemon butter fish or a bright summer salad.
