The 2023 Vineyard 36 “Foundation” Napa Valley Red is a bold and polished Bordeaux-style blend that showcases the depth and elegance of Napa Valley fruit. Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc, it draws from prestigious vineyard sites including Beckstoffer George III, Renteria, TGR, Orchard Ave, and Blackbird Vineyard. Aged for 19 months in 75% new French oak, the wine reveals layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and cassis, framed by notes of toasted oak, dark chocolate, and subtle spice. The texture is plush yet structured, with fine-grained tannins and a balanced acidity that carries through to a long, graceful finish. With an alcohol content of 14.4% and a pH of 3.70, it strikes a harmonious balance between power and finesse, making it a compelling expression of modern Napa Valley winemaking.
