The 2023 OLG Pinot Noir opens with a brooding crimson core edged by flashes of vermilion and neon pink, leading into aromatics that rush forward with muddled strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, orange peel, and a distinct “Pinot crunch,” all lifted by coastal lavender and sagebrush from the Sta. Rita Hills. On the palate, it delivers concentrated layers of black cherry, ripe strawberry, fennel, and a subtle kiss of Maldon salt, balanced by the vibrant regional acidity that keeps the wine energetic and structured. Mild, well-integrated tannins carry the wine into a finish that feels both persistent and lifted, showcasing its sense of place.
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes that highlight its bright acidity and red-fruited depth. Roasted duck with cherry glaze, herb-crusted pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto, cedar-plank salmon, or soft-ripened cheeses like Brie or Camembert all complement its balance of fruit, earth, and savory nuance.

“The 2023 Pinot Noir Our Lady of Guadalupe Vineyard has a very focused presence and speaks clearly of place. Black tea, incense, black cherry, crushed rocks and cola tones build in layers of plush yet measured fruit. Deep mineral tension emerges from the thick grape skins that develop in this marginal, wind-battered site. The 2023 is a broad-shouldered, concentrated, structural wine that expands in every dimension across the palate, wrapping up with a classically built, upright finish. Iodine and marine notes surface on the close. Aging was ten months in 45% new French oak.”
