We love a good, cheap everyday refreshing Rose, but if the occasion or your taste-buds are craving something a little more complex, the step it up with these fantastic Roses
Stoller Rose of Pinot Noir (Oregon) - One of my favorite stops on a last summer's trip to Oregon's Willamette Valley was Stoller, so we're really excited to be able to offer their incredible Rose of Pinot Noir at such a great price. The new 2023 release has just arrived and the aromatics of this Pinot Noir Rosé consistently leap with grapefruit zest and orange peel. A bracing acidity is flirtatious with juicy strawberry and lime. That electric vibrancy buzzes as the wine fades into white tea and delicate florals.
Bedrock Ode to Lulu Rose (California) - Bedrock is primarily known for producing Old Vine Zinfandels but when co-owner Cottrel was here for a tasting back in February, its was their Syrah and Rose that had everyone talking. Crafted from the same 100+ year old vineyards that their incredible Zins come from the 2023 Ode to Lulu Rosé is composed of 76% Mourvèdre, 16% Syrah, and 8% Grenache, sourced predominantly from centenarian vineyards in Contra Costa and Sonoma County. Fragrant with wild berries, wet stone, Mediterranean herbs, and dried flowers. Flavors of rich, red-toned fruit, crushed flowers and subtle earthy notes all open effortlessly.
Day Wines "Lemonade" Rose (California) -
Founded by winemaker and owner Brianne Day in the 2012 vintage, Day Wines produces boutique, artisanal bottlings made from fruit sourced exclusively from a small group of Oregon growers who utilize Biodynamic, Organic and/or Sustainable vineyard practices.
Her latest version of Lemonade continues the bright, juicy tradition that Lemonade has become. Berries and citrus dominate with ripe raspberry, juicy grapefruit, pink apple, Meyer lemon, wet stones and lifted floral aromatics. High quality, organic vineyards were used, the fruit was picked at an optimal time for rosé, and the wine was steadily crafted into a bright and juicy, delicious rosé. Four organically grown vineyards across the Willamette Valley provided Pinot noir and one organic vineyard in the Applegate provided Gamay, the combination is juicy, bright, and full of fruit.
Lucien Reymond "Les Caillottes" Sancerre Rose (France) - On the nose, an enchanting bouquet of wild strawberries and ripe raspberries mingles with subtle floral undertones, evoking a sense of summer meadows. The first sip reveals a well-balanced wine with bright acidity that dances on the palate. The flavors of red berries continue to dominate, accompanied by a delicate citrus zest that adds a vibrant twist. This Rosé embodies a crisp minerality, reflective of its terroir, lending a clean and invigorating finish.
Peyrassol "La Croix" Rose (France) - If you like a wine that has history and a great story, then you'll love the Peyrassol. Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded by the Knights of Templar who were dedicated to protecting the Crusaders en route to, and in, the Holy Land. The first recorded grape harvest took place in 1256 and winemaking has continued uninterrupted throughout the centuries. When the Templars were brought down in 1311, the Knights of Malta became the fortunate owners of the Commanderie. They remained in control, flawlessly maintaining the vineyards until the French Revolution, when it was taken over by the State. The Rigord family purchased the estate in 1870 and the current proprietor, Françoise Rigord, has been making the wines at Peyrassol since 1981.
Beautiful pale pink in color, with distinct bluish hues. This expressive blend opens immediately with notes of small red fruits carried on a savory undertone of garrigue. There is a refreshing touch of greenness on the palate which gives this fresh, lively wine its truly thirst-quenching character. An accessible blend in the true style of Provençal rosé: delicate with flavors of white fruit and a hint of minerality.
Jansz Premium Sparkling Brut Rose (Australia) - The Jansz Premium NV Rosé is based upon Jansz wines of several vintages. Specially selected and crafted individual batches from cool climate locations in Tasmania, form this wine. Every site used to source grapes is specifically designated to growing fruit for sparkling wine. All batches are kept separate during winemaking to maximize blending options and the complexity of the final wines. The wine then goes through secondary fermentation in bottles and is aged on yeast lees for as long as possible with the average age of the final blend being 18 months to two years.
